Goan Fish Curry

Serves - 5-6
Ingredients :
Promfret fish large- 2 nos
Coconut grated - 1 nos
Dried Kashmiri red chilli - 10 nos
Turmeric powder -1/2 TSP
Cumin seed - 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds - 1 1/2 tbsp
Garlic cloves - 6 nos
Ginger -1inch
Tamarind -(lemon sized)
Konkum -6nos
Green chillies -2 nos
Onion -1/2 cup
Water as per required
Salt to taste
Instructions :
1) Clean the fish .Cut it into pieces. Season with salt and set aside for 10 mins .After 10 mins wash the fish.
2) Soak lemon sized tamarind in 1/2 cup water and set a side
3) To a mixer grinder add freshly grated coconut ,11/2tbsp coriander seeds , 1/2 inch ginger chopped , 6 cloves of garlic, 1 inch ginger, 3 cloves ,1tbsp cumin seeds , 1/2tsp turmeric powder and 10 dried Kashmiri red chillies. Dry grind it on slow speed, then start adding a small amount of water and grind it into a smooth paste.
4) In a bowl take 1/2 cup of Onion finely sliced , add salt and soften it.
5) In a pan on low flame add the grinded paste and a cup of water rinsing the bowl .Add the tamarind pulp , soften onion ,2 slited green chillies and stir. Add 6 kokums and stir. Cover the lid and bring the curry to boil.
6) Add the fish and salt as per taste. Stir. Simmer uncovered for 5 mins or until the fish is cooked.
The delicious Goan Fish curry is ready to serveš.
